Predictions

Week 3:

The New Orleans Saints are a huge mess. The bounty scandal that everyone has heard about, and led that lead to the suspension of two current Saints players and their GM and head coach, has left them looking like a shell of the team they used to be. That being said, I think the Chiefs will hand the Saints their first win of the season.

While I do expect the Chiefs' defense to show improvement, that's only because I don't think they could play any worse than they did last week against the Bills. Much like the Falcons in week one, New Orleans has far too many weapons for our defense to account for. Darren Sproles, Marques Colston, Jimmy Graham, and Drew Brees handing and throwing them the ball will just be too much for the underperforming defense to handle.

The only way I see us keeping up in this game is if our pass rush is rejuvenated and we can pressure Brees into at least two turnovers. If that does happen, and I think Romeo Crennel will make sure it does, and Jamaal Charles goes over 100 yards (3 yards on 6 carries last week, I think we will keep up.

While I do believe we keep it close this time, I think the Saints hand us our third loss and get their first win 31-24.

Week 1:

Fully healthy, this would be a great game and a great test for the Chiefs. However, injuries, much like last year, will kill KC. The Atlanta Falcons offense is full of firepower. Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, Roddy White, Julio Jones, and ex-Chief Tony Gonzalez will be far too much for our injury plagued defense to handle.

Top 5 defenders for the Chiefs: Derrick Johnson, Tamba Hali, Eric Berry, Brandon Flowers, Kendrick Lewis

There may be arguments made for the newly acquired Stanford Routt but he will have to prove himself to me first. Well three of those players are out. Hali is suspended and Flowers and Lewis are injured. Derrick Johnson is likely to play but is also nursing an injury. For the full injury report visit http://www.kcchiefs.com/team/injury-report.html

The Falcons defense is above average but I think we'll be able to run the ball decently and if we can maybe we can keep the ball out of Atlanta's hands. Matt Cassel will have to be far more than the typical game manager that he is if we have any chance of putting enough points up to keep up and with the Falcons' new upgraded secondary that will be all the more difficult. The addition of multiple time pro-bowl cornerback Asante Samuel to go along with cornerback Brent Grimes, a pro-bowler last year, will make open receivers hard to find.

Final Prediction: 27-14 Falcons
